Government support for eligible heat-pump installations
Heat-pump grants of £2,500, £7,500 or up to £9,000
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme can reduce the upfront cost of an eligible heat pump, including qualifying residential air-to-air systems. JMG Renewables can assess your property, design the system and apply for the grant on your behalf.
Eligibility and grant approval are subject to the official Boiler Upgrade Scheme rules.
How much could you receive?
The amount depends on the property, the heating system being replaced and the type of heat pump being installed.
Standard heat-pump grant
Available towards eligible air-to-water or ground-source heat-pump installations, including qualifying properties currently heated by mains gas.
Oil or LPG uplift
Available for eligible off-gas-grid properties replacing an oil or LPG heating system with an air-to-water or ground-source heat pump.
Available until 31 March 2027.
Residential air-to-air grant
Available towards eligible air-to-air heat-pump installations in residential properties. Scheme eligibility and product standards apply.

Frequently asked questions
Is the heat-pump installation free?
No. The grant contributes £7,500 or, for qualifying oil/LPG off-grid properties, £9,000 towards the cost. The customer may still need to pay the remaining balance.
Can I receive a grant for an air-to-air heat pump?
Eligible residential properties can receive £2,500 towards a qualifying air-to-air heat-pump installation. This is separate from the £7,500 air-to-water grant and the £9,000 off-grid oil/LPG uplift.
Do I apply for the grant myself?
No. The scheme is installer-led. JMG Renewables submits the voucher application and the property owner confirms consent when contacted.
Can a mains-gas property receive £9,000?
No. The £9,000 uplift is for eligible properties with no mains-gas connection that are replacing oil or LPG heating. A qualifying mains-gas property may be eligible for the standard £7,500 grant.
Are hybrid heat-pump systems eligible?
No. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme does not currently provide a grant for hybrid systems combining a fossil-fuel boiler with a heat pump.
Is the £9,000 grant permanent?
The additional £1,500 uplift is currently available until 31 March 2027, subject to the official scheme rules and funding.
Grant information checked against GOV.UK and Ofgem. Scheme rules can change, so final eligibility must be confirmed at application.
Could your property qualify?
Request a heat-pump survey and JMG Renewables will check the property, discuss the grant and provide a tailored quotation.
