Why Choose a Local Partner for the Lakes?
Expert Energy Solutions for Cumbria’s Unique Landscapes

Our Work in Cumbria: Lake Windermere Information Centre
We are proud to have modernised this iconic Lake District hub, transitioning it entirely away from fossil fuels. JMG Renewables replaced an outdated gas boiler and inefficient ceiling blowers with a high-efficiency Daikin Multi-Split Heat Pump & Climate Control System. Working carefully within the building’s attic space to minimise disruption, our team installed whisper-quiet ceiling cassettes and a specialised 120L hot water cylinder. The centre now enjoys a substantial reduction in reliance on fossil-fuel heating, the potential for lower energy costs, and efficient year-round climate control for thousands of annual visitors.
Our Solutions for Cumbrian Homes

Solar PV & Battery Storage
Harness the power of the fells. Even with the Lake District’s famous rainfall, modern solar technology is a game-changer. By pairing Solar PV with smart battery storage, you can capture daylight and power your home through the evening, drastically reducing your reliance on the grid.

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
The sustainable alternative to oil and LPG. Many homes in the Lakes rely on expensive off-gas heating. Our MCS-certified Heat Pump installations offer a cleaner, more affordable way to heat your home. We assess your insulation and layout to ensure a system that works perfectly for your specific property.

EV Charging & Underfloor Heating
Complete your eco-friendly home. From smart EV chargers for your driveway to high-efficiency underfloor heating that pairs perfectly with heat pumps, we provide the full package to ensure your home runs at peak performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do air source heat pumps work in cold and wet Cumbrian weather?
Yes. Modern air source heat pumps are designed to operate in low outdoor temperatures. Correct sizing, weather-compensated controls and suitable radiators or underfloor heating are essential for dependable winter comfort and efficiency.
Can renewable equipment be installed in the Lake District National Park?
It may be possible, but listed buildings, conservation areas and properties within the National Park can require consent or careful positioning. We can explain the technical options, while the property owner should confirm planning requirements with the relevant planning authority.
Are heat pumps suitable for rural homes currently using oil or LPG?
They can be an effective alternative, subject to a full property assessment. We review heat loss, insulation, electrical supply, hot-water demand, emitters and the proposed outdoor-unit position before recommending a system.
Do solar panels generate electricity during cloudy Lake District weather?
Yes. Solar PV generates electricity from daylight rather than heat, although output varies with roof direction, pitch, shading and the season. A survey allows us to estimate likely generation for the individual property.
Do you offer servicing and aftercare across Cumbria?
Yes. We offer heat-pump service and maintenance support across the areas listed above. Contact us with the system make, model and postcode so we can confirm availability and the most suitable service option.
